Liverpool have conversations with the CEO of Real Madrid on Xabi Alonso proposal Spanish League giants.
Jose Angel Sanchez met the Christian Purslow Reds CEO, this morning in Barcelona at the Hotel Juan Carlos I in front of the Anfield club from the pre-season friendly with the RCD Espanyol tonight.
Talks had Alonso arrived in the Catalan capital with the rest of the team, but he has refused to talk about where his future is as' serves only to exacerbate the situation. "
Spanish football journalist Guillem Balaguer, with the history in England and his country believes that is now a matter of time, as if Alonso Anfield for the Bernabeu.
"It seems like its set for him to go. It has to look pretty obvious now that the player would be happy to go," he said.
"Also the fact that Rafa Benitez has accepted that [Alonso is leaving], that's the case so it's just a matter of everybody reaching an agreement."
Liverpool are set to play Espanyol to officially open the Spanish club's new stadium. Kick-off time at the Estadi Cornella-El Prat is 8:00pm BST.
